| Since hitting New York in the late 1980's, Scott Colley has been one of the city's busiest bassists. For references, ask John Scofield or Joe Henderson. Here, Colley is joined by tenorman Chris Potter, pianist Bill Carrothers and drummer Bill Stewart for a set of gripping originals in which outside is "in" and inside "out". Even with it's unorthodox harmonic and time markers, dynamic force-fields like "Impossible Vacation" are at once appealing and challenging.
